Eliza Sifa: “The movie Ipar Adalah Maut is a story between Nisa and Aris and their initial romantic life, happy until Nisa’s younger sister arrived. This started many conflicts, and we actually don’t realize that these issues happen because of someone close to her, her own younger sister.”

What is Eliza Sifa’s view as a woman regarding the story of Ipar Adalah Maut?
Eliza Sifa: “Honestly, I was surprised, yes. And even more surprising, it turns out that there are many people out there who relate to this issue. But the Nisas out there don’t dare to speak up. “My hope is that with the movie Ipar Adalah Maut, there will be many people who are aware that brother-in-law can actually be dead.”

Eliza Sifa: “Initially the content was viral. I put it on TikTok and Instagram. Apparently it went viral across media. Until eventually, MD contacted me. Especially MD, yes, I immediately trusted the movie with the right hands.”

Eliza Sifa: “For the Nisa figures out there, stay strong. Fight for something you believe in is right. Keep up the enthusiasm!”
Why did you choose the title Ipar Adalah Maut?
Eliza Sifa: “Why Ipar Adalah Maut? Namely, I took it from the hadith “al-hamu al-maut” which is actually not just the sister-in-law. The brother-in-law can be an older brother or sister. What the Apostle has already said is that brother-in-law is actually death. We shouldn’t interact too closely with in-laws, because undesirable things will definitely happen. So, I took the title from the hadith.”

Eliza Sifa: “Firstly, first, because there is a lot of wisdom in this film. Secondly, relatable—this is something that happens around us, but we don’t realize it. Thirdly, raise awareness. So that parents are aware that the relationship between in-laws is that dangerous, even in the hadith it is stated that in-laws are death.”
