The lively atmosphere surrounded by invited guests, cast members, and fans became even more intense, plus Sandiaga Uno was also present to fully support the film Badarawuhi di Desa Penari (Dancing Village: The Curse Begins), which was shown in America.
The film Dancing Village: The Curse Begins is the first film to be shown in IMAX in Southeast Asia. Apart from that, MD Pictures collaborated with Lionsgate, distributing this film around the world, one of which is America (Los Angeles). Attending the “Hajatan” of Dancing Village: The Curse Begins, Sandiaga Ugo Fully Supports Indonesian Film Which Is Developing to the International Stage
The “hajatan” of Dancing Village: The Curse Begins began with greetings from the cast and director, Kimo Stamboel, a press screening, and then the media crew and all invited guests who attended had the opportunity to watch the film for the first time with a more immersive IMAX experience.

Maudy Effrosina, who plays Mila in the film Dancing Village: The Curse Begins, also said, “I was at the “hajatan” of Badarawuhi. It’s very crowded. Very exciting. I’m also nervous and really excited to watch it.” Likewise, Claresta Taufan was really curious about the film Dancing Village: The Curse Begins. In fact, Claresta was nervous!
Kimo Stamboel hopes, “I’m excited because this is my first time making an IMAX film, and I hope it will be well received by the public. Because the first one was very successful (KKN di Desa Penari). Hopefully this one can live up to it and, at least, equalize.”
During the press screening, CEO and Founder of MD Entertainment, as well as producer of the film Dancing Village: The Curse Begins, Manoj Punjabi, gave warm greetings and hopes for the film, saying, “We are the first to watch Dancing Village: The Curse Begins filmed for IMAX. Thank you, Mas Sandiaga Uno; we are really very proud, and we want to bring Indonesian culture everywhere. So, through this and our movies, hopefully we can do that. Thank you, thank you, everyone.”
Sandiaga Uno, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia, was present at the Gala Premiere to fully support this film, especially with its release not only in Indonesia but also on the international stage. “You make us all proud. Thank you very much. On behalf of the Indonesian Government, I really appreciate this achievement, and of course, we fully support it. Including worldwide releases in America, New York, and Los Angeles. Hopefully, it can bring success, and the target is hopefully to surpass the record set by Mr. Manoj himself.”
Apart from that, Kimo Stamboel, the director of the film Dancing Village: The Curse Begins, expressed his hope that this film can be enjoyed throughout the world. “Hopefully we will be even more global, bringing our culture,” he said.
The invited guests who attended the Gala Premiere were not only treated to the first film shown in IMAX from Indonesia, Dancing Village: The Curse Begins, but there was also the following dancer showcase.
With the dancers dancing to the tunes of Sinden Dawuh by Madukina and Matoha Mino, the atmosphere of the celebration seemed even more tense and real. Moreover, the film Dancing Village: The Curse Begins is very synonymous with the dawuh, who becomes Badarawuhi’s slave to dance non-stop to entertain the ghosts in Angkara Murka.
