Established in 2002, MD Entertainment has grown into one of Indonesia’s leading fully integrated entertainment companies. Through its flagship studio, MD Pictures, the company produces films, television programs, OTT series, animation, and music, with a content library of more than 200 feature films and 14,000 hours of programming.
MD reshaped Indonesian cinema with the success of Ayat-Ayat Cinta in 2008 and expanded its creative ecosystem with MD Animation in 2012, introducing the popular animated series Adit Sopo Jarwo. In 2018, MD Pictures became the first film production company listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange.
The company later achieved historic success with KKN di Desa Penari (2022), the highest-grossing Indonesian film of all time, followed by Badarawuhi di Desa Penari (2024), the first Southeast Asian film released in IMAX.
