MD Pictures Releases Final Poster & Trailer “Pabrik Gula”

Jakarta, March 10, 2024 – MD Pictures, an MD Entertainment Company (IDX: FILM), proudly releases the yellow and red clock posters of the films ‘PABRIK GULA’ and ‘PABRIK GULA UNCUT’ as well as the final official trailer of ‘PABRIK GULA’ directed by Awi Suryadi and starring talented actors such as Arbani Yasiz, Ersya Aurelia, Erika Carlina, Bukie B. Mansyur, Wavi Zihan, and many more. The film ‘PABRIK GULA’ will be shown in all cinemas in Indonesia, including on IMAX and 4DX screens on LEBARAN 2025. The film Pabrik Gula will also be shown in America in April 2025, and creators & cast will attend the gala premiere at IMAX Century City, Los Angeles on March 27, 2025.
The Official Yellow Clock Poster (17+) of the film ‘PABRIK GULA’ displays magnificent and mysterious visuals. In a dark atmosphere filled with mystical impressions, the silhouette of a bride and groom appears in a palanquin, carried and paraded by a group of men in a sugarcane wedding procession. The procession moves slowly among the expanse of sugarcane fields, towards a sugar factory standing in the distance, shrouded in smoke and the dim light of the full moon. This poster builds curiosity about the terror hidden behind the traditions and dark history of the sugar mill.
The Official Red Clock Poster (21+) depicts a more explicit atmosphere with more striking horror elements, this poster displays the dark and gripping atmosphere of the film Pabrik Gula Uncut. With a dark nuance dominating, the background shows a large full moon that shelters the figure of a terrifying creature with horns with a threatening expression. Around it, various mystical elements and the main characters of the film are shown in various expressions of fear, alertness, to curiosity.
The Final Trailer for ‘PABRIK GULA’ opens with a monologue narrative from the character Endah which feels heartbreaking, about the desire of the workers to leave together and return together. However, a series of terrors must occur because there are workers who make mistakes by breaking the rules. The trailer closes with a comedy scene from the characters Franky and Dwi, played by two famous comedians.
The film is produced by Manoj Punjabi and inspired by the true stories of sugar mill workers
from the Dutch era that have been raised by Simpleman. ‘FABRIK GULA’ reunites Manoj Punjabi, Awi Suryadi, Lele Laila, and Simpleman, who previously had success with the phenomenal film KKN DI DESA PENARI – which became the highest-grossing Indonesian film of all time when it was released in 2022. Anticipation for ‘FABRIK GULA’ is very high, with a production scale that promises to present a mysterious and scary story behind the history of the Sugar Mill.
PABRIK GULA SYNOPSIS
Approaching the sugar milling season at a remote factory on Java, Endah joins as a seasonal worker to settle family debts, accompanied by friends Fadil, Hendra, Wati, Ningsih, Franky, and Dwi. They’re greeted by strict rules from Marni and Samin: return to the mess at the yellow alarm and stay put after the red alarm at 9 pm.
On their first night, Endah spots Ningsih sneaking out post-red alarm. Concerned, Endah discovers a mysterious wayang performance without a visible puppeteer in a warehouse, where everyone inexplicably vanishes except for a tied-up ox. Terrified, Endah retreats without explanation.
The next day, Samin finds the ox rejected by the Demit Kingdom, signaling their need for a different sacrifice. As supernatural occurrences escalate, Marni prioritizes factory operations while Samin and Jinah investigate. Amidst the chaos, Endah and her friends realize they might be the next targets.
As tensions rise and the Demit’s demands become clearer, Endah and her friends must navigate eerie revelations and dark secrets to survive the haunting mysteries of the sugar factory.
