Sebelum 7 Hari was first released on the Pijaru YouTube channel in October 2020. This short film captures the mystical atmosphere enveloping a family after the death of the mother. The setting of this story is based on the belief that a person’s spirit is still bound to the mortal world for seven days after their death. The combination of horror and emotional drama makes Sebelum 7 Hari not only frightening but also full of meaning.
In the hands of Awi Suryadi, Sebelum 7 Hari was developed into a more complex and frightening story without losing the essence of its short film. As we know, Awi is renowned for his skill in handling adapted horror works. He also holds the record as the director of the highest-grossing horror film of all time in Indonesia, KKN di Desa Penari.

Synopsis of Sebelum 7 Hari
The short film Sebelum 7 Hari has been available on YouTube for four years, and so far it has been watched by more than 1.8 million people on YouTube.
In the short film, it tells the story of two children who attend the funeral of their recently deceased grandmother. While waiting for the funeral ceremony the next day, they decided to sleep in their late grandmother’s room and experienced a terrifying event.
The short film has won the Best Live Action award at HelloFest 14 and Best Fiction at ReelOzInd! Australia Indonesia Short Film Competition and Festival 2021.
There are two characters that stand out the most in the short film, namely Bian and Hanif. In the feature film version, they will be played by two talented young actors: Sulthan Hamonangan and Anantya Rezky Kirana.
Previously, the two young actors had shared roles as two friends who had to face an evil figure while wandering home from school in the film Monster (2024). This time, in the film Sebelum 7 Hari, they are acting together again to bring to life the characters of siblings who must face terror since their grandmother’s death.
Meanwhile, actress Agla Artalidia has been cast to play the role of Bian and Hanif’s mother, Tari. On one hand, she is a single mother struggling to raise her two children. However, at the same time, Tari still harbors resentment over what her mother, Anggun, did in the past. Tari bears this dark memory together with her brother, Kadar.
The character Anggun is played by actress Fanny Ghassani, who has been absent from feature films for 14 years. Undoubtedly, Sebelum 7 Hari also became a satisfying comeback moment for Fanny.
