A Mockumentary (mocku and documentary) is a film genre where the camera takes most scenes that are taken in a documentary method a.k.a documenting it in real-time. But a mockumentary film is fictional which can be found in the word “mock” hence why a mockumentary method is often used for the comedy genre.
Another definition for a mockumentary film is faux-found footage, which means that the scene uses the technique of found footage that gives the illusion of a video recording which makes the scenes more realistic than heavily edited cinematography.
For some films, some video recordings that were shown remain unedited as it will give the essence of a real-life experience to the viewers to feel as if they are a part of those escapades. In general, a mockumentary film has multiple original elements in it, with its shaky effects on the camera and the natural acting from the cast.
