Risa Saraswati and her family are finally playing in her own movie, produced by MD Pictures and directed by Rizal Mantovani, with the title “Jurnal Risa by Risa Saraswati.” Picked up from the story of the ghost, which makes the whole family and cast of Jurnal Risa scared—Samex—apparently, it’s not that easy. In the new movie Jurnal Risa, Prinsa Mandagie becomes one of the characters involved in the Jurnal Risa investigation. Instead of going home safely, Prinsa dares Samex to come by calling out his name repeatedly. However, the name is not allowed to be mentioned because the ghost will appear and disturb whoever calls it, possibly causing death.
According to Riana Rizki (Riri) and Ranggana Purwana (Angga), during this reading of the Jurnal Risa movie “Jurnal Risa by Risa Saraswati,” the ghost Samex appeared and shook the cast’s concentration. How terrifying could that be?

How was the initial process in joining the project of the movie Jurnal Risa by Risa Saraswati?
- Ranggana Purwana: “Outstanding. Very Exciting. This was our first experience entering the film world, and the process was extremely enjoyable. Because doing something new is certainly nerve-racking.”
- Riana Rizki: “A lot of learning, too. But it doesn’t feel tiring as it’s all with relatives too. We constantly laugh. Anyway, it’s fun.”
What ritual is always done while shooting?
Ranggana Purwana: “We did what is usually done while shooting, certainly gathering together and ordering food online!”
How did it feel to gather with Indigo children?
Riana Rizki: “We often say the Jurnal Risa team does not force people to believe. We only share what we feel and see.”’
Was there anything weird that happened during the shooting?
- Riana Rizki: “It actually didn’t happen during shooting, but while reading, there was.”
- Ranggana Purwana: “While reading, we all felt it. We gathered, and suddenly, we felt an earthquake in the room. After the earthquake, our ears were ringing. Everyone was talking to each other. Eventually, Prinsa said, “Why do I feel dizzy?” The rest laughed. After finishing the reading, Mas Rizal said, “Yes, I also feel dizzy.” Why did that happen? Because at that time the Semex figure was there and she was very happy!”
Was there any mediation done outside the script?
Ranggana Purwana: “Several mediation scenes happened outside the scripts. Prinsa also felt it. “Why do I feel like doing this? Why is it like that?” She said. Then, she felt something strange.”
Where was the shooting location that had the strongest energy?
Ranggana Purwana: “In this place (a historic fort in Indonesia), because in the shooting process, many people heard things, and everyone heard different things. There was one scene where her name was called. It’s clear that nobody was at the set. But the ones who were on standby behind heard replies like “Yes” and replies like “Okay, start again,” and then there was “What?” At the end of the third scene, there was someone who whispered, “Hi…”
Riana Rizki: “Previously, there was one until all the family members dreamed of and attached themselves to it.”
How was your experience being directed by Rizal Mantovani?
Riana Rizki: “Amazing. He is very detail-oriented. His directions are very good—he is very spontaneous and creative.”
What are your hopes for the movie Jurnal Risa by Risa Saraswati?
- Riana Rizki: “Certainly, we hope that this creation can be accepted by everyone. It can entertain everyone. Take the positives, throw the negatives.”
- Ranggana Purwana: “We assure you they exist. Don’t try to challenge them because what happened to them could happen to you.”

- Riana Rizki: “Scary.”
- Ranggana Purwana: “Interesting!”
