The jazz duo from Jakarta, ArumtaLa, has officially re-released their latest work, entitled ‘Apa Arti Hidup Ini’. The duo group, consisting of Laura Pradipta (vocals) and Arini Kumara (contrabass), was formed in 2023. However, the names Laura Pradipta and Arini Kumara are already quite popular in domestic jazz music circles. Different from the previous work, now ArumtaLa will decorate the strains for a soundtrack work for the film “Badarawuhi di Desa Penari.”

‘Apa Arti Hidup Ini’ is a hit song from the 1970s that was previously sung by Dara Puspita. In line with the film “Badarawuhi di Desa Penari” which is set in the past, this was one of the considerations in choosing this song.
Together with MD Music, ‘Apa Arti Hidup Ini’ was then remade by ArumtaLa. “We think this is an exciting challenge to recreate the song ‘Apa Arti Hidup Ini’ in a dark and eerie style. Musical adjustments happened by themselves, and we enjoyed every bit of the process,” said ArumtaLa.

“Badarawuhi di Desa Penari” is a horror film in Indonesia and a prequel to the successful “KKN di Desa Penari” in 2022, which broke box office records in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore.
This phenomenal story combines incredible directing from Kimo Stamboel with the power of an IMAX-certified digital camera, an ultra-large screen, and signature sound to bring the story to life in the film’s eerie dancing village and jaw-dropping action. The film “Badarawuhi di Desa Penari” was shown in cinemas on Eid 2024.
